[Berries]

Red fruit or berry cultivation is a sector that grows every year and that has transformed from being a local market to being grown in different regions inside the same country, thus being a key sector in the agrifood exportation of each nation. An example of this is Spain, where over 60% of production is exported. In addition, although up to this date strawberry cultivation hogged most of the berry agriculture in Spain, farmers are getting behind diversification, and proof of that is that blueberry cultivation area has quadrupled since 2012.

Thus, and in view of the new agricultural needs, [naturKhem] has developed its range of agronutrients for red fruits or berries, which has different liquid biostimulants of plant-based extract rich in amino acids, designed for foliar use and free of hormones. The application of each of these biostimulants in the specific red fruit variety for which they were developed favours a higher plant growth, as well as the synthesis and accumulation of reserve composites in treated plants, which translates into a better nutritional state of these plants and, thus, the fruit tightness, as well as in an increased post-harvest storage time, as ripening is delayed.

The development of a biostimulant range for Berries is the result of a vast number of scientific works carried out by the R&D&I of [naturKhem] and the Universidad Jaume I of Castellon in different crops and with different plant varieties, which had the purpose to assess the effectiveness of different treatments on red fruit crops of different species.

The previous study showed that the application of undefined and general mixtures used up until now has very uneven effects on the different red fruit varieties. In order to achieve the optimal effects, it is necessary to treat each variety with the specific technology developed, as some biostimulants in the market provide poor results and often have no effect or may even prevent and reduce the growth.
