[CitriUp]

Agriculture is currently very technically developed, as markets are global and very demanding, and regulations are very strict with regard to the use of different substances, such as hormones, which have been used to fight different problems and needs that farmers face.

One of the primary needs in agriculture is to achieve the largest production possible and to be able to collect the fruits at the most appropriate time in order to obtain a better price in the market. Thus, it is necessary to minimise the falling of ripe fruit, which allows to maintain it longer in the tree and harvest it at the optimal time.

In citrus fruits, the falling of ripe fruit is very common. Thus, in [naturKhem] we have developed [CitriUp] technology, which arises from a great number of scientific works regarding the late falling of citrus fruits. Based on these signs, NaturKhem presented an investigation project together with the R&D&I department, the Universidad Jaume I of Castellon. The primary purpose of the research project that lasted for 5 months was to analyse the effect of the application of different biostimulant, hormone-free products or other substances traditionally used and that are now prohibited, on fruit maintenance for different citrus fruit varieties.

For this study, foliar treatments with [CitriUp] technology were performed, and physiological and biochemical measures were taken regularly and ripe fruit abscission was measured using mesh. In addition, different physiological parameters were analyse, such as the foliar levels of proline, malonyldialdehyde (MDA), abscisic acid, jasmonic acid and salicylic acid. At the end of the experimental period, production measures were also taken regarding the technical organoleptic characteristics of the fruit and its post-harvest performance.
